Painting brings me immense happiness and joy, allowing me to view the world through my unique perspective. I have lived in Pune for the past 18 years and have established myself as an artist here. My passion for art was sparked in my childhood by one of my father’s friends, a visiting artist who frequently shared his paintings with me. His influence inspired me to start sketching and painting, and I kept myself engaged in various painting activities and competitions during my school years.
As I honed my skills, I began receiving awards, which further fueled my interest in nature painting. This led me to pursue formal education in art, where I learned various techniques and deepened my understanding of the craft. After earning my degree, I dedicated myself to working with watercolors, focusing on nature and landscapes. For me, connecting with nature through painting is a spiritual journey.
My recent visit to Varanasi marked another turning point in my artistic journey. The city’s rich cultural and spiritual atmosphere inspired me to capture its landscapes, people, and rituals in my work. Currently, these themes dominate my paintings.
Looking ahead, I plan to explore new places, particularly the temples of Tamilnadu. I aim to study and paint these temples, adding a new dimension to my existing body of work. This scholarship will enable me to work more seriously, allowing me to produce a new series of paintings that I hope to exhibit.
