Open Call Art Photography - Culture & People of Kolkata
Founded in 2015 with the objective of taking talent deprived of opportunities to the world, Easel Stories connects emerging artists with audiences. We foster their creativity and make their artworks available to collectors, patrons, and art enthusiasts who, like us, love experimenting and adding diversity to their art collections.
During this time, we've met well-known artists and writers from India and other parts of the world. Arpan Bhowmik, a well-known artist from Kolkata, is one of our prominent artists. His work explores the socioeconomic landscape, nostalgic aspects, and creative aspects of the city, including its landmarks like cars and buildings.
In order to attract art photographers from all over the world who are interested in capturing Kolkata in all its beauty, we are now launching a new project. It can be shot from varying perspectives, or bring out a story, a journey, or an idea for change. Arpan Bhowmik will paint the photographs in exact measure or add his own additions once we accumulate these photographs. At the end of the project, an exhibition showcasing artworks along with the selected images will be held at Easel Stories Gallery.
Please feel free to go through some of his artworks, new series, and techniques to understand his works and the way he creates artworks, his style, and his silhouettes. We are looking to see remarkable street photography from Kolkata, works that inspire and induce excitement and art that brings forward newer spaces from within Kolkata, one that is waiting to be presented to the world.
Thank you, and wish you the very best!
